    Marine Trader Labelle Curtain Lights

I just threw all of mine out on my CHB 35. I doubt they were original though, since there was blank wires at the very end of each section.

    Folding Seat / Recliner?

Not trawler based yet, but I have 2 very comfortable options I use for the camper or sailboat. My favorite (w/ ottoman) is: Brown Club Chair - Mac Sports C932S-100 - Folding Chairs - Camping World For the boat: https://www.westmarine.com/beanbag-chairs I have spent many days lounging in both...

Helm Seats for 1982 34 Marine Trader DC

Previous owner glued down a piece of plywood where my flybridge seat was, and reverse bolted pedestals with swivel chairs. I like the idea of the storage boxes though. I may do that, or a much better job glassing down a panel to match the rest of the floor. I have my lower helm seat, but have...

    Found my boat!?

Does the bow not line up with the stern? Something looks twisted in the deck lines.

    Offshore.

Bluewater boats are a misnomer. Like in 70's sailboat names, the faster the name sounds, the slower the boat actually was.... That doesn't mean there aren't a lot of people who love theirs.

    Messing with Marine Tex

I do a lot of work on my boat with Bondo. Great stuff for cosmetic work, and cheap. Engineer's Solution: I would suggest to use a small circular piece of cardboard, just bigger than the hole. Tie a piece of thread through a small hole in the middle, and fold it in half. Push the cardboard...

CEO of West Marine is Leaving

There was a time West Marine had the best interests of the customer in mind. I worked at a mid size store 20 years ago in high school and a little after. We got ripped off a lot by people stealing/ buying at lower cost from Boat/US and returning their product at our store, but it was a cost of...

    Flemings really do anchor out

Back to the anchoring, they make a nice stable center to a raft-up. I think the second boat is the Amistad. Normally moored in New Haven, CT. And stopped by Duck Island about a week ago.

Fenders Scratch Gel Coat These Do Not

I use West Marine Polyester It's only been a year and a half, and I just let the rain wash them mostly. Before the covers, my fenders were yellow with pollen.

Fenders Scratch Gel Coat These Do Not

Use fabric fender covers. I didn't like the added expense, but it is completely worth it. My sailboat's hull was just painted last year and the year before. Any fenders without covers eat away the paint. So far, 2 years no issues with my covered ones.

    Need advice on re-fit

Is there enough head clearance on the lower inside corner? You might just be moving the impact point. I would put a small cushion where your head might hit. Otherwise hinging the top part frame is probably pretty simple (as per Comodave) I am 6'1", and our camper door is 6' tall, but the...

    RV vs Cruising

I said my mother-in-law, not my wife's MIL. :) We get along great. She was the one who sewed the privacy curtains. We actually chose our trawler with her and the dogs in mind as well. We found there just wasn't enough water around while camping, even at Assateague.

    RV vs Cruising

To Wifey B: As far as accommodating multiple couples, it can be done relatively comfortably. But mostly in trailers, and limited to 2 couples. I have seen large fifth wheels with a kid's bedroom aft. We have a 25' travel trailer I tow with a Highlander. Our #1 priority was our 2 large dogs, and...

    CHB transom step

Exactly, but it's only 8-10" high, so I'd like it to hinge outboard and use as a second step. The deck is just above the existing step.

    CHB transom step

Has anyone built something where the gunwale had a cutout and hinge down step to deck level? I was thinking about doing something like that to help my wife with her bad knee. I would relocate the existing step downward and enlarge it for easy entry.
