    Refinishing my teak floor

Salon floor refinish I used a stripper to get as much of the old finish off as possible (kleanstrip premium) then sanded down to bare wood. You need to get the old finish off or it will look splotchy. Then put 5 coats Minwax premium oil urethane warm semi-gloss. Pretty nice for a 36 year old...

Onan MDKD Heat Exchanger & Hoses

Coolant hoses MDKD I have this genny 8kw and back in the spring pulled the heat exchanger and cleaned and replaced all the hoses. I had to replace the end caps on the heat exchanger, they were both cracked. Put in a new raw water impeller while I was at it. All the hoses are pretty much...

    Head Pump Booster

I have the same issue...Jabsco 37010-1090. Mine draws raw water and if I hook it to a pail next to the head it does well but doesn't seem to be able to lift water from the thru hull very well. Have verified that the supply hose and thru hull are clear. New impeller made no real difference. Maybe...

    Bomar hatch problem?

I have Hood hatches (now owned by Pompanette) on my boat and the aft one is all crazed up, probably from being stepped on. It is acrylic. I asked at a local glass shop if they could replace it and they said no...replace the lid. Very expensive for what it is. So I just live with it...been that...

Boat Prices: Has the world changed????

I think the market for reasonably priced trunk cabin trawlers will remain strong. Especially for those that have been well maintained...mostly because no one is building these type of boats anymore. The cost to build a 36' trawler with a solid teak interior and trim would be very expensive...

    House bank maintinence over winter

I was just wondering if it was better for the batteries to let them discharge a bit and then recharge them or just let the charger keep them topped up all the time. I visit my boat a lot so either way is no problem.

    House bank maintinence over winter

I have a house bank of six 6v golf cart type batteries and a Charles 30a charger that goes into a float mode and keeps them at 13.2- 13.3 volts. I have maintained them with distilled water, very little has needed to be added this year. They are two years old, so my question is being that the...

My rebuilt mast I just rebuilt my wood mast. Water was getting in at the top where the wires came out and had several large cracks. Base had been repaired previously .... it was wet. Took about a month to get it dried out, lots of gluing grinding sanding and painting it's finally done. I might...

    Furuno wireless radar

I decided to buy the Furuno First Watch. Might be a month before I get the mast done but will give my impressions when I get it up and running. Planning on getting a 10 inch I pad as a dedicated display. The cost of other radars and two mfd's for the limited use it will see on my boat made this...
