    Insurance Nightmare - BoatUS

Thanks, yes some do suck, but I'm not going to let some sucky A-hole ruin my day. I like where my slip is and don't plan on moving it. Thanks again

    Insurance Nightmare - BoatUS

So just to keep it going this was not a hit and run. I reported it to the marina office the next morning. There were several marina dock hands and others who witnessed the incident. All said no damage. Marina manager also went on neighbors boat and said no damage was visible. Only evidence was a...

    Insurance Nightmare - BoatUS

So a quick update, but first a couple of clarifications: * My neighbor and I are not on speaking or even on Hello terms. I am a live aboard, he visits every couple of months, I just ignore him or smile at him. * Insurance info for both boats was part of the FWC report. Marina does not give out...

    Insurance Nightmare - BoatUS

Anybody ever have a similar experience with a 3rd part filling a claim on their policy? Back in October I was returning to my slip and I accidentally touched my neighbors boat. He wasn't around at the time and I let him know about it the next time I saw him which was about a month after the...

    Ballast?

So I was crawling around inside the boat today (1998 Mainship 350 Trawler) and came across this in the port aft bowels of the boat. Not easy to get into. Grabbed a piece and it bent like butter, I suspect it is lead and it was put there during construction for ballast to level the boat. Nothing...

    350 Head Power?

    350 Head Power?

Think I found the problem although I still don’t know where the fuse is. Pulled the switch out and rats-nest of wires. With lights off, and toggling the switch I could see a spark. Looks like they used small bolts and nuts to secure wires together, then wrap it with tape. At least they used a...

    350 Head Power?

It is not locked up, I can turn the shaft and it moves freely. Just rebuilt the whole head less then a year ago and we live on the boat so it’s been getting regular work outs. Time to get out the meter and trace the wires.

    350 Head Power?

1998 350, just went to flush the head and nothing. Doesn’t seem to be getting any power to the macerator pump/motor. Checked main breakers but they seem fine. Anybody know where they bring in power for the head or if there is a fuse hiding somewhere in a cabinet? Thanks

    Marlow?

I think they bought Mainship for the production space to further expand their Marlow brand. Purchased their hard assets and had no desire to stay in the same 30-40 foot field with cheaper and better quality foreign competition.

    flag pole

My boat came with several clamp on rod holders. I moved one to the center of the rail on upper deck and I have a wooden flag pole that fits in snugly.

    Air Leak from Fuel Tank?

So I originally started this post to ask about info on the pick up tube removal or how to fix an air leak. I didn’t know it was going to turn into a debate about fuel line design and who F-up the system. I believe this setup is original and it has worked for 21 years. I didn’t realize how...

    Air Leak from Fuel Tank?

You make a good point. I thought of putting a hose in a container and see what happens. Putting it thru the empty fitting hole will be easy, then just the fitting with no valve. You also mention sealant? I read somewhere that the pickup tube may be welded to the fitting. The integrity of the...

    Air Leak from Fuel Tank?

I’m sure. Bungs are there, at bottom and just a few inches from the front. Looks like they were welded in the tank but never connected. PO thought the boat originally had a gas engine. That’s another debate.
