Thank you for your reply. My daughter is quite handy and she's currently living aboard my 42 ft uniflite DC. She's learning the systems on my boat so she can take care of her boat when she gets it next month. Good advice on the water heater plumbing suggestions. I will definitely take that to heart.
I just purchased a CHB 34 for my daughter and granddaughter to live aboard. This boat either does not have or I cannot find a hose connection for shore water.
1. If there is a freshwater connection, where is it?
2. If there isn't a connection I would love to hear some suggestions as to where to...
Before moving up to sailboats and eventually my 42' Uniflite DC I had several smaller ski/fishing boats. I bought a 19 footer that needed new seats. No big deal.Unscrewed the old ones, replaced the old rusty screws with stainless screws an installed the new seats. Apparently the new screws were...
The last batch of Honey Teak I bought from Tom's wife did not perform as well as any previous purchase. I have a sailboat (Columbia 30) which has Honey Teak that's over fours since application (clear coat enamel applied annually). I used what HT I had remaining on part of my Uniflite 42 DC. I...
I have been using Honey Teak for over twenty years. Very sad that Tom died and the company closed.
I just purchased and applied Total Boat Gleam 2.0 a few months ago. I was impressed with the ease of application and it looks great. The "orange" glow from Gleam is not as dark as Honey Teak but...
I have never understood this debate. Does it matter if CC is man-made or natural? If your boat is sinking trying to assign blame is far less relevant than figuring out how to plug the hole. The debate should be about how to resolve the problem. And, yes. There IS a problem.
Just dropped both pans
We just finished a top end job, replaced the manifolds and dropped the oil pans to clean the crap out of the bottom. We did not remove them from the boat but managed to get them clean, checked the oil pumps and reinstalled.
Not a fun or easy job. The bolts by the...
I bought my boat over a year ago and it has an GFCI outlet. I asked the surveyor about and for what it's worth he said it wasn't a problem.
Lord knows it has come in handy.
Has anyone removed their oil pan from a 1980 Crusader454 while the motor is in the boat? We have it dropped down to the bilge. Seems like it doesn't want to leave the boat.
Hey Guys,
I have a 42' Uniflite DC 1980 with twin 454's. Without going into all the gory details I'm in the process of replacing the camshaft on the port motor among other things.
My current problem is the harmonic balancer won't come off. The bolt on the crankshaft came off without a hitch. I...
