The manual fuel primer pumps on my 1988 Volvo's are leaking, only when being used. Two questions:Can they be rebuilt? Are they the same primer pumps used on CAT diesels?

I think this demonstrates what everyone has been saying al along. "Sourcing Volvo parts can be a nightmare"

May actually be a Bosch part, depending on if it is on the injection pump or elsewhere.

Post a pic of it.

Diesel injection shops keep many of the various primer pumps on the shelf.

I own a couple of old TAMD 60Bs. Parts are available but unless you are JP Getty or Bill Gates you do not want to call Volvo. Example: FSO solenoid from Volvo $1000 US or knockoff FSO solenoid on Fleabay $60.

Search the part # and Engine model on Fleabay. Lots of knock off parts are available. Buy one. If it fits and works then buy a spare.

BTW, I'm in the process of repowering to Cummins.
