Hi all,


I've finally joined up after learning so much from many of you in the forums. I'm not a trawler person, but have a new-to-us '78 Santa Cruz 33. We live in the PNW and plan to cruise this racer. I'm sure I'll see many of you out on the open Salish Sea.

Welcome Aboard... some here want to term nearly ever power boat as a "Trawler" I disagree.

My family has a power pleasure boat... yours, a sailing pleasure boat!

IMO... this is the best site for chats about "Pleasure Boats"

What does a “racer” look like?

Awesome boat; you will have a ball cruising in that sled!
She is not that different from the Catalina 30 I started out cruising in 1979.
Back then my dream bigger boat was a Santa Cruz 40 or (sigh) 50.
 
Welcome. I've done some cruising on racing sailboats over the years. Bill Lee who designed and built the Santa Cruz used to say Fast is Fun. I agree!

Eric, back in my trailer yachting days in NZ, folk used to say my yacht looked like it was going fast just sitting on the trailer... :D
