Albin 34 sun deck

Looking at purchasing a 1986 albin 34 sun deck with a single 5.9 Cummins. The bot has no generator but appears it was a factory option. Does anyone know what size generator and where it would have been located in the boat if I wanted to install one?

We have a 1986 Albin 34 Family Cruiser with the single Commlns 5.9
engine Our boat was orignally sold without a generator. We bought the boat a few years ago and determined the generator had been installed around 1999. The generator is a Kohler 5 KW which powers the boat very well even with both air conditioners running.

The installation was done on the port forward in the engine compartment. Plenty of room. The only problem we found was a port list due to the weight of the diesel generator. We lived with it until I found 300 pounds of lead to install on the staeboard aft the water heater.

I have an 1986 34 that came with a generator. Mine is a 5KW Onan, also on the port side. My boat is currently in the "for sale" section with pictures.

Andrewc, which Si Tex autopilot do you have, and did you do your own installation?
