New from Vancouver Island

The friendliest place on the web for anyone who enjoys boating.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Well that will be handy for all the good stuff, Desolation, Discovery and Broughtons. They also have a decent chandlery there which surprisingly Courtney/Comox does not.

PS, If you ever need help with your boat, since I live in QB as well, I'm here to help. Also, interestingly the time difference between QB to Campbell River and QB to Comox isn't as great as would seem. To get to Campbell River is only 10 minutes more.

When driving and I take the Courtney turn off from highway 19, I still have lots of driving to do but its all residential and downtown type stuff. So much lower speed limits, stop lights, over a bridge, then once over the bridge still more driving to do to the Marinas in Comox.

Welcome from the south Island.
A useful route planning resource...

I downloaded all the material here and put it in a small binder. It definitely comes in handy when I am estimating cruising times. Big download, recommend double sided.

Using a free website copier such as https://www.httrack.com/, you can also download the entire web site for offline viewing in a browser. Last July, this download delivered 39 folders containing 6,005 files occupying about 400MB. httrack produces a log file with download statistics and error messages, of which there were six 404 (link not found) errors.
I also take my Pacific Yachting subscription with me in electronic form by printing the PDF to a smaller PDF that excludes the advertisements. I further distill the content by printing specific articles of interest (such as destinations) to a collection of PDFs that I call my "port book".
