Shantina has Stainless exhaust mufflers. I'm not sure how old they are, but they have to be in excess of ten years old. there are 1/4" pencil zincs installed on their bottoms, but no bonding wires are attached. Green corrosion is showing up around the pencil zincs. The zincs do not last long, and it appears they will have to be changed at least every six months. I'm concerned that one muffler is showing some signs of corrosion and may need replacement. Has anyone had issues with stainless mufflers and had to replace them? If so, with what?

The original stainless lift muffler on my 1983 Albin was still fine last summer when I sold it.
When I bought the boat in 06 I removed it and epoxied (west systems) the bottom seam and painted it as a PM task.
It never had a zinc.

I have a nice set of fiberglass mufflers in the classifieds.
