Compare the specs carefully - probably identical motors with different fuel calibration. So it’s likely just $$$. (The Tohatsu 8hp & 9.8HP are similar also) since weight & size is usually the critical factor, so as long as u don’t exceed USCG rating, should be no problem with extra power though for 2 light people and usual loads, 15 is plenty ON A 10ft RIB

I would put the Suzuki 20 in the mix of consideration. I really like the fuel injection. I have never had a small outboard that starts and idles so perfectly.

+1 on the Suzuki. We have a 9.9 with EFI. Starts and runs beautifully. Can be modified to 15 or 20 hp with an EFI module change......According to YouTube so it must be true.
