Hoping any Mainship 400 owners (or perhaps Ken could chime in!) that have a good sense of the Hull Identification Number code for the Mainship 400 line could help me. I'm pretty good deciphering HID's but I'm not positive on what the parts of these mean.

In particular i'm interested in the actual hull number, as in off the assembly line. (317?, or maybe 171?) In the below example I know that the last 2 digits mean it was built in 2008. The first 2 letters designate it as a Mainship, but everything in between I would really like to get some clarity on.

Also does anyone know how many of these were built?

Any help is most appreciated!

Thank you! that helped, I'm getting closer to cracking the code.

The only two characters I'm not clear on is the "N D" portion. The "MPT" is the MIC code for Mainship, "314" is the hull number (314th one built) The "I 7" means it was built in September of 2007, and "0 8" means it is a 2008 model.

Anyone have a guess on what the N and the D indicate?

My guess and only a guess is it may designate a model?
My 34 HT is MPT GH

I guess the ND may be a model or just some method Mainship used for serial numbering. Who knows???

With a little digging in the MS BOM files I find that MS lists the Model as a GH for a 34 Trawler. I also see a GM Model designation for a 34 MY.
I also found an '04 MS 400 listed online with a HIN that includes the "ND" so my bet is on a model designator.

I *think* that Mainship started numbering the 34T series at hull 101 rather than 001. If so, and if they did something similar on the 400, you may not be the 314th (well, 317th) hull.
