Bent Turnbuckle, chain steering

Is this serious? I just discovered this the other day , flyBridge steering .The metal is just bent, no cracks, seems not to hit gear when steering. I plan to replace, question is can I do it at my leisure.


Also, where does one get chain replacement supplies?

Turnbuckle, Depends upon how sharp the bend is whether or not it will affect strength.

As far as chain goes many bearing houses or suppliers can get what ever type is needed.
Call them as they will need to see it or photos and will need some measurements for link type and length. Take a few GOOD photos.
 
My guess is that the turnbuckle must have passed over a pully at some time. perhaps the system was adjusted wrong or something happened to cause the chain to be repositioned..
 
Any bent turnbuckle is not going to be as strong as before it was bent.
Replace it.
