Sometimes on the West Coast (north edition: Washington, BC), the hardest part is not getting the boat but getting the moorage. So in your search, also include calling some marina's for availability.
The larger the boat, generally (painting with a very wide brush here) the more difficult to find moorage.
Get the biggest boat that can make you happy, but also the shortest footage and not a foot longer that will keep you happy. Bigger isn't always better.
When negotiating for the boat especially if you find in your research moorage is difficult to get, include the marina space as part of the deal. No space, no boat.
