1989 36' Grand Banks Classic

Well, I hate doing this, but after 3 years of ownership it has become evident that we need a bigger boat. We have done so much to improve her, thinking that this was going to be the boat for our retirement years, but our family has grown, the boat is too small, and after doing so much work, we are putting our beloved Grand Banks 36' up for sale.

1989 36' Grand Banks Classic, twin 135 HP Ford Lehmans approximately 3500 hours each, new bow thruster in 2019, 7k Northern Lights generator with less than 600 hours, teak decks removed in 2018 and replaced with non-skid gel coated decks, new aluminum epoxy coated fuel tanks in 2020, new Garmin Electronics in 2018, remodeled aft cabin to install a King Size bed, etc, etc. way too much to list here. Asking $139,500. We live in Clearwater, FL but now keep her in a covered slip in Tarpon Springs.

Am I to understand the new fuel tanks have reduced your fuel capacity to 130 gallons or is it 130 gallons in each tank?

Double stacked 64 gallons each, 128 gallons each side, so boat now carries approximately 260 gallons verses 400 before. Brian Smith at American Diesel talked me into doing this way, he was right about not needing so much fuel and now I’m about 2,000 lbs lighter with steel tanks gone and the weight of the extra fuel

You might want to ask your broker to correct the listing on Yachtworld. 130 gals would be a real turnoff for many buyers specially if they want to do the Loop.

I would put the 2,000 lbs back in the boat. It affects comfort, roll period, acceleration and stability. But personally I'd put 2,000 lbs of water tankage in her - can never have enough fresh water!
