Mr. CR. I'd seen these type vid's before but quite a while back. Yup. Brings new meaning to the term "professional" and the necessities of bow thrusters and twin engines but I somehow think you wouldn't make too many friends in a transient dock situation. Impressive-thanks.

Easy the wind was blowing in the right direction! 
I watched some docking in fishing harbours in Nova Scotia last September and I was really impressed by the skills of these fishermen to dock their boat.

We saw Hurtigruten ships in Norway while cruising to the Arctic Circle on HAL`s Rotterdam. They were/are commercial supply and transport ships which used to take some pax but they might have realised the income from more pax less freight. They seemed to spend as little time as possible loading/unloading in port.

It’s a 12 pound CQR knock off.
While the skipper definitely did show some real skills here, and kudos to him/her and the crew, if I bumped the dock that hard in my laker, I would consider myself extremely lucky to not have hull damage. I hope there there were some big squishy fenders on that dock face.

The SS badger is a the last coal fired ship on the breast lakes. It is a car ferry out of port Luddington on Lake Michigan that drops anchor to spin Into dock twice daily. Was impressive thing to watch. https://youtu.be/AZH5_oAcJsE

It's great as long as the anchor sets where you want it to. Could be a big problem if the anchor doesn't catch.

They're referred to as The Chesapeake Cowboys. During the summer, docking competitions are held in around a dozen different locations. Prize money and show up money is significant. 2 or 3 have boats specifically setup for the docking competitions .

We were docked in Ludington and when we saw the Badger enter the harbor, we had no idea what the captain was about to do. Really fun to watch. No pods, no thrusters, no tugs . . . just old-school boat handling.
