It seems as I read thru * threads, * there are a whole * lot of asterisks* popping up in the *text. Yea, like that.

Any reason? Just another function of the new host?

Link to examples please, Al?

Greetings,
Mr. ARoss. I think your question refers directly to the "Is it spring yet" thread elsewhere on the site. It's still snowing in parts of the country you know.*******************

The ocean consists of saltwater.

Yea... We fixeded it! ;-)

Tom, this is a clip from a recent post by Marin on Lehmans that have the weird **'s You say it's fixed?

*American Diesel isn't much for websites.* Even when they were selling new drop-in replacement engines for the FL120, their website was minimal.

You need to call them directly to get information, parts, etc.

The diesel shop we use in Bellingham has a lot of Lehman experience, but they get many of their parts from American Diesel.

Some parts for the FL120 are simply no longer available, particularly some of the Lehman marinization parts.* For example, the drive coupler for the raw water pump was designed by Bob Smith way back when.* Unfortunately, he told me, it has a fatal flaw in its design and construction which cannot be effetively fixed when it breaks which it eventually will.* These couplers are no longer available unless you can get one off a discarded engine.

The Lehman cooled exhaust manifold I've been told by Bob and our shop are no longer available other than as salvage off a discarded engine.

But many service and wear items like coolant pumps, heat exchangers, valves, valve guides, thermostats, pistons, rings, bearings, seals, etc. are still available.* The injection pump can be rebuilt, for example.

There are three manuals for the FL120.* The operators manual, the shop manual, and the parts manual.* We were fortunate that our boat came with all three, plus Ford of England's original operations and service manual for the base Dover engine.* But if these manuals aren't on a boat you buy, they are available for downloading on a number of websites.

I'm glad someone asked. I saw the asteriks in quite a few posts, too. They didn't appear to be inserted by the author...
