I’m just about done with the buying process for a Shucker 436.
I would love to be able to discuss with you the things to watch out for, bits and hints. Of course I have nothing to contribute, so far anyway.
Thanks

I don't own a Schucker, but was considering one about 10 years ago. If you haven't found it already, there was a very good Schucker Owners group on Yahoo with a large amount of information in their archives.

Thank you Ted,? I will take a look.

Pictures please...

Thakyou!

I looked at a few Schuckers before I found mine. My boat is close to a Schucker, but it doesn’t have as much room as yours IIRC.

What boat did you get?

The only other member-Shucker I know of is Janice’s live-aboard trawlette. She’s really proud of Seaweed (and should be), and one can find many shares from Janice right here on the Forum. She’s one of the most knowledgeable and experienced of our members, and she’s a writer at-large for various publications. Check out her excellent Website.

Very nice! Thank you

It’s an Island Packet PY cruiser, the “trawler” version of their pilothouse SP cruiser. But I added a mast to it for stability, get home, because I wanted one, etc.

Looks great. What have you got the hammock strung to?

IMG_1447.jpgIMG_2388.jpghers the express version the Packet Craft 36. Sorry don’t have a full side on view.

I think he (my eldest son) ran the boom way out and tied it off. Then strung the hammock from the boom gooseneck to the end of the boom I think. So he’s hanging over the water I think.

Very nice!

Hey Bones,

I've owned a 438 flybridge going on 3 yrs now. I know just enough to be dangerous but am just starting a major refit so my learning curve is quite steep. Crazy how many variations of interiors on them!

Mikey

I’m surprised at how little I can find on the internet about the Schucker’s. Little yid bits here and there.

I followed the link twice before requesting info membership to no avail. Tonight I tried again and received an invite and address to follow. It says I am a member but I guess I am to dense to use the site as I see no content, I followed more supposedly AT&T sign in info but it left me on a page with no option to move forward. Oh well.
Thanks

That explains it. Thank you.

Just in case you were not aware, Yahoo has shut down all groups. [/url])

Correct - as of last month, Yahoo shut-down 95% of the Groups functionality. Many groups such as our Willard group migrated to Groups.IO, though we have to pay for the privilege. Many groups either chose not to migrate, or had long ago disbanded, perhaps in favor of Facebook. I did a quick search on Groups.IO for Shucker and nothing came up.

BTW - nice boat. I had only recently heard of Shuckers.

As an aside, I have moderated the Willard Boat Owners for 20+ years. Activity has slowed a bit, but we are still a very strong owners group, but we welcome all enthusiasts with open keyboard whether or not you own a Willard. They are tough boats.

Than you for the reply. Maybe I need to start a group. I found one on Facebook and sent a request but no answer. I think there was only one member.
Oh well. Thanks again.

Mikey, did you get your refit done?

Retired 3 weeks ago, heading to Demoplis mid October to put her on the hard and do it, so much for taking it easy but I've got big plans!

Go for it. Good luck.
