Hi.
My battery was not that good and voltage drops so I decided to add Epsom salt to it.

I opened battery and there was no smell,
I added salt and acid started reacting with it and chlorine smell all over the place.

I know I messed up.

What are risks and chances? (What might happen)

You are a brave man.

Thanks. All our local shops sell bad used batteries and they claim that they are new.

I can't buy untrusted used batteries anymore.

So what could happen in my case?

Will battery explode? :)

:)

Greetings,
Welcome aboard. I've seen many U-Tube videos claiming battery rejuvenation by doing exactly what you did. I'd never try it but thousands probably would and do. Place the battery in a safe place (outside and not near anything that would be affected by acid) wait a couple of days then bring it to a recycle center. You may get a few euros for it as scrap.

Somehow, something other than epsom salt has been put in that container; discard it before somebody gets hurt. Magnesium sulfate and sulfuric acid do not produce chlorine. Even when done correctly, the epsom salt trick is a very temporary reprieve for a failing battery. RTF has it right.
