Took these off the boat a few years ago when clearing out the drawers etc.

Now cleaning out the spaces in the house and came across them again.

They are like valve on/off levers but clearly not since they are angled and no holes for the stem and bolts that go with fuel or other valves.

I have never needed them in the last four seasons but don't want to toss them - just in case.

Any ideas?

Could be used on a deck fill

My deck fills have the usual two hole set up.

Throw them away and immediately you will figure out what they do and you will need them to do that the next day...

I'm with kchace. I had one on my boat too, until it got all rusty. They do offer more leverage than the typical key-chain size deck fill lever. But if you don't tighten the fills too much, you don't need that leverage.

Not sure what you mean, my deck fills are flush with two holes for the plug type lever? And why would they be marked on/off if they were for a deck fill which is always clockwise for closed, anti-clockwise for open?

Deck fills on my boat also have a slot. The levers pictured were originally a valve handle, with the end cut off and bent to T shape.

I’ve seen these. They also come with red vinyl handle grips for the safety of loved ones.

They look like ball valve handles that someone cut off.

There is no sign of a cut on ether of them, they seemed to have been made this way. Plus the angled ends are not usual for a ball valve?

Not a pint, but 16 oz. Ill let you know when I get to JAX, right now at mile 0.

Still think ball valve handle amazing what a vise & file can do,question is what were they modified to do!

They sell Mile 0 T- Shirts over at Tidewater Marina! was wearing mine this past weekend!

No thoughts on the logo - two triangles and the S swoosh?

If you haven't needed them for 4 seasons, toss em and get some sleep!

I was going to go with handles for a nesting set of cookware, but that "on/off" marking doesn't fit. Lots of things could be "open/close," but "on/off" is harder.

In Key West there are also mile" 0 "T-shirts and bumper stickers for the US Route 1 drivers.

It was only when we got to Norfolk that we realized that ICW Mile 0 worked for both directions - coming south from there and going north from there! Two separate mileage counts!

I will guess ball valve modified to open paint cans.

My guess is they are off valves that have replacement handles. The ends would be useful to pry up floor panels or open some type of door or drawer.

Since they use 'on/off' vice 'open/shut' I would venture they might have been used in an electrical system? Some sort of removable breaker handle?

Greetings,
I'm going with deck fill keys...

Would that not be Open/Closed.

If it helps they were in the drawer in the master head. I will be on the boat later today so will look to see what the valve looks like for the direct overboard.

I just Googled "on off boat valve handles" and there they were on the images page.

Until I quickly realized it was a photo link back to this thread! :D
