On my boat the clear bowl on the fuel filter is hard to see because of the shadow cast by the filter itself. I added a light just aft of the filter. Now I can easily check the fuel without getting in the bilge. Nice cherry red glow, good to go.

Great idea! Can’t help but look when you stick your head down in the bilge.
 
Nice! Next, a wireless camera to view it from your smart phone or tablet while at the helm?
