I liked this boat when it was for sale a while back . The spiral staircase is a little goofy but I like the rest of the boat .
 
I took these photos a couple of years ago when the boat was in Indiantown, FL. Looks like it may be the same boat. It had charm, and looked like a pretty capable boat. The owner just had extensive re-plating and fabricating in the rudder area, according to the Yard Manager.

Mr. HH. Potential indeed! Nice-thanks. Only thing is...a couple of pictures seem to have some sort of structure forward of the wheelhouse. Same boat possibly. Long term improvement project for the current owner perhaps?
 
I am in the process of picking up this boat. It needs a lot of work. I don't see getting it on the water for a year or better. There are 10 to 15 places that need to be patched. The electrical is a mess. I couldn't get power anywhere. Looking like the engine is locked up. A major cleaning will make my wife feel better.
Biggest problem is getting it across the state on a trailer. Without cutting the wheel house off I cannot see under 15'
 
Where is the boat now? I tried looking at the first link, but it wasn’t found.

Thanks you are the first person to express any interest in the progress of the boat. It is still on the west side of Michigan. I am closer to Port Huron. My help to load it is still in Florida.
 
Too bad it isn’t running, because I would run it around rather than trucking it. I really don’t like taking a boat apart to truck it. Oh well...

I feel the same way. The advantage of trucking is that I have it on my own trailer. I bring it to my house. If I have 2 hours I can just go out in my yard and work on it.

Someone move Port Huron? Last time I was there, it was on the east coast of Michigan.

Or did you mean, the boat is on the west coast of MI and you are on the east coast of MI? <TEASE>

Looks like a 13ft B. Whaler with an 18 outboard might tow it closer to home and a couple of push poles to lift wires might work?

Yup, gotta plan your trip when clearing bridges.... You may have to take the back roads.
MAYBE you can approach AAA for a route planner?
 
kind of confused on locations. Is that the same boat that was in Indiantown, Fl? if so, did it do a trip to the great lakes and now is in Michigan?
 
looks like a miniature island freighter.
Looks a bit top heavy too.

The boat in Indiantown is/was only 35K
If it is still available, might be able to bring it up, to Michigan, on its bottom before winter sets in.

The boat is on the west side. It sounds like you know Michigan. I live in Lapeer. I am going to trailer it back to my property.

Well, if MI weren't so cold in the winter, you could rewire the boat in a couple of months.

the guy had some good batteries in it. it took a bit to get them both wired in just to check the starter. The started engaged and hit hard but the engine didn't budge. The seller had the marina come down to look at the engine. The report was that the engine was locked up. The wiring in the engine room liked like Broom Hilda's hair. All sorts of single strand wires going who knows where. I was up on the top of the pilot house and there were stray wires sticking out up there. I couldn't even get a light to work. It will take a while but I will figure out a pattern and put it back together.

Sorry don't mean to keep adding on. 2 50 gallon fuel tanks. No generator. I went looking to hook up my generator to a shore line. I am pretty sure that a shoreline connection is a no-go. funny because there are some shoreline cables on board. I just hope that I am not biting off more than I can chew.

The guy I am buying it from moves boats for a living. He brought it up from Florida on the back of his truck. It is now on the hard on the west side of Michigan. I have a 45 ft. lowboy flat bed. I will trim off as much as I can to make it short. after that ???
 
I have also been inquiring on this boat. Owner told me it is still avalible. I live just 20 min from where it is stored. He didn't mention it dosent run or the power problems..... he just stated it is getting some rust delt with and needs paint....... what is your status with this purchase?

You are correct. You have a lot of work to do by yourself. Maybe more than you want. Might be time to get some skilled labor to assist ie. a marine electrician ....
Let's hope the rust is only superficial.
The listing say, '50 hours since major over haul'. 50 hours and the engine is locked up?
I do hope you have a heated shed.... other wise..... you might be looking at a couple of years to get it ready.
I wish you a lot of good fortune and perhaps a lot of luck while getting the boat ready. SMILE
I hate it when the owner lets the boat deteriorate ......

I thought the same thing. I had to enlarge the picture and look closely. It's actually a white bimini top, not a permanent structure

What price did he give you? He started at 20k for me.

For the most and best picture Google 32 ocean star Trawler. Look under Boats 4 Work. The head is in the master bedroom. There is no second berth. The forward is a little office type area. Some of the rust is either through the hull or close to it. I counted at least a dozen spots that I would cut out. That was just looking at the outside of the hull.
