This does indeed look like an interesting boat. I could only get one photo on the slow loading and. I want to see more!


Edit: I found some more on the internet. Definitely interesting.

Very weird boat. I like the fact that you steer facing aft while operating from the forward deck. I bet backing the boat is very interesting chore with the house in the way. :lol:

We saw this thing on our cruise in July...

NOT a good looking boat up close IMHO..


The Admiral said it looked like it was designed by a committee of designers with different agendas.


It was just plain strange.

She sure is an interesting vessel! Love the curves.

I would like to see video of the interior of the vessel, it's kind of hard for me to understand the layout with the posted videos.

I think this boat was for sale in Florida a few years ago . I think it’s kinda cool looking.The spiral staircase is different. I would mount some kind of hardtop forward for some shade, like the old Biloxi Luggers.

She does push quite a bow wave in photo. At same time it appears little to no stern wave.

Interior looks nice. Bridge deck is huge. Not too easy ladder access to bridge. Wonder if salon pilot chair locks down to floor for hours of heavy weather/waves?

This vessel really reminded me of a larger Pilgrim 40,...both outside and inside. The craigs-listing does not allow contact with the broker/owner for additional info.



Wonder where someone would find that contact info??

This looks like a vessel that was reviewed in Passagemaker Magazine shortly after completion, quite a number of years ago. The interior was incredible - a lot of mahogany and beautifully done. The bare hull had been sitting in a field for years before it was purchased and built up into a yacht.

Don't know anything about Bahi. She spent the first 12 years in Florida. She is now in Michigan. I have to go get her from the other side of the state. I am going to be using her on the Great lakes.

She's a custom built boat for the owner of Western Towing.

I was stuck in that Indiantown yard for 7 months while that boat was being repaired and stored there. The Yard Mgr. said the rudder and shaft area was being rebuilt....not sure what happened to it. I always thought the boat was adorable and I may have bought it then if I didn’t have so much trouble with the yard. It must be a rolly thing, but sure has charm. She looks like someone has slapped some paint on it since I last saw it in January, 2015. Good luck with it.

Oh man...one of my favourite boats of all time designed by skinny water specialist Dave Gerr.

There are places on the BC coast that have never been charted because no 'normal' boats would ever go in there, like in the Estevan Group. Then there are the creeks & rivers you could sneak into and tombolo's to dry on...

There is a 50' Covey Island for sale in Cape Coral and very reasonably priced. The shallow draft and low air draft is intriguing. The lack of headroom, not so much.

It's only a guess, but it might have something to do with the description saying it's a fibreglass hull when it's probably a cold molded hull (Covey Island Boatworks specializes in that) so it might have been on the market for quite a while.

For some reason, tunnel drive seem to have fallen out of favor. I wonder why.

So do I.

Seems an easy to accommodate prop protection in fiberglass construction design-opportunities. Should be relatively inexpensive to fulfill while building hulls.

Maybe the confined area for water churn while prop screws through water reduces prop-propulsion efficiency?
 
Box keel boats with tunnel props are supposed to have good points, like the stern doesn’t squat and the bow doesn’t rise when applying top end power...that might counteract any inefficiencies of turbulence in the tunnel.

True... But, why have tunnel prop designs not become more often utilized???

Well, at least one member has been known to post insults and immediately delete. Gets to the insulted and everyone on the thread but hey presto, not there to respond or protest. "Post & Delete" I call it. Now that is a sin.
 
Seldom do I erase items during an edit. If I do it's because I realize I made a mistake while writing. I do sometimes edit to add a bit more info that I neglected to put in while writing. I feel the limited time "edit" is good feature if used correctly/honestly. :dance:

boatdesign.net makes it unlimited. I can go into a two year old post and change it.

No reason to limit the edit feature... I guess; as long as only the OP person is only one who can perform edits. Never really thought about it.

I don't go back into my old threads for any reason other than to pull out a quote for a new post. Don't see reason to edit an old thread after certain amount of time. Might be nice to have the edit feature last a couple days rather than just a couple hours.

I imagine the shorter length of time for edit feature to be operable = the less bandwidth necessary to run the website???
