AKA-Higgins Crash Box

Anyone have any secret ways of adjusting the clutch in one of these? Seafarer is being picky about going into gear in either direction. So far it’s been a challenge to find parts and info which is surprising considering how many thousands of these there are out there. If someone knows where I can find one with a 1.5-1 reduction and a 6-71 DD housing it would be much appreciated.

(253) 275-7306. They are also on eBay selling DD parts. If they don't have one they chase one down for you.

I have managed to get my hands on a parts and service manual so if anyone needs a copy let me know. This gear is about as basic as can be so not a lot to go wrong.

First step will be to verify the linkage is free and functional. Next will be to adjust the clutch, change the oil with good old 30wt and check the alignment.
