Hi guys,
I am about to take the plunge and rebuild the front cabin on the 34 CHB (marine trader). It’s full of rot and has no structural integrity left, only the fiberglass shell remains.
My thoughts were to remove the teak decking as I planned to do anyway, and cut off the old fiberglass shell from the windscreen down to the deck height, rebuild the frame with timber, sheet it with marine plywood and fiberglass over it.
Anyone know of anybody that has done this before?
It would be great to see some pics so I know what to expect. I do remember seeing a photo or two about 10 years ago of a 34 with the cabin top cut off, but I can’t seem to find them now.
Any info before I get started in a few weeks would be great.
Tim

Cabin rebuild

I’m guessing nobody else has had this issue or is as crazy as me to tackle this job themselves.
I have started stripping the front cabin out and can see how the boat was constructed.
If anybody is interested, I’ll be updating my progress on my other post (34 clipper pilothouse restoration).

Yes apologies,
I somehow started a new thread instead of adding to the other one.
