Minimec injector pump

Hoping someone can identify the part with the wire hooked to it, to the right of the return line. It looks like an electric solenoid that shuts the fuel off but I can't find any info on it.
When I removed it, it slides straight out, the inside part does not come out and it seems you have to rotate that piece clockwise to shut the engine off. Is there a solenoid that rotates? I'm only familiar with the out and in kind.

I don't know many details, but I asked american diesel the same question; one of mine was broken off. It's for cold starts, helps it run rich. Completely unnecessary on most boat engines, mine are not currently wired up.
 
Earlier models had a push button, its for cold starts, if for any reason your battery is down its can mean the difference in starting, or not.
Personally I'd replace it 'in case' you ever need it.
