Hi TF. I plan to bring an inflatable kayak along on a one month charter of a Nordic Tug 42 Flybridge. When set-up, the kayak will be 15 feet long.

Will I be able to fit the set-up kayak on the inside of the rail on the boat deck, if anyone has experience with this boat?

Also, does anyone have experience carrying around an inflatable kayak on rail-mounted kayak racks? I'm specifically curious to know whether there are adverse consequences of maintaining a set-up inflatable in a sideways position where it is subject to whatever wind loads might be happening up there.

Thanks !

I haul up on the bow, and drop the paddle board or kayak along the side between cabin and rail. I tie the bow of the board or kayak forward, and then loop another line (same bow line) further down the kayak around another stanchion. They will blow around if you don't secure them well. On and off the cabin rood with the kayaks is a pain, having only one kayak along the bow leaves the other side open to use the bow.
