Looking back 1 year on since l became a Trawler owner.

It is now just over 12 months since l became the owner of a 1978 Albin 36 foot aft cabin trawler. During that time l have countless hours in the engine room and bilge, at the local hospital being patched up, numerous takeaway dinners and in the dog house for smelling like oily bilge sludge.

However on the positive side l have managed to replace both engines, fitted new fuel systems, wiring, water heater and waste holding tank.

She has been slipped and with new antifoul and a polish the hull looks in great condition for a boat more than 40 years old. This is one solid boat.

Have replaced most of the wiring, with updated electronics, radios and sound system.

I motored from the Central Coast to Sydney Harbour in early November and she is now moored at Abbotsford in the Parramatta River.

Year 2 includes cosmetic works to the woodwork and complete renovation of the aft cabin and bathroom. I am looking for four brass hinges that have a pin and cup arrangement. Any help finding these will be much appreciated.

Until Year 2 update, cheers

Murungal

Welcome aboard. Sounds like you have been busy, keep up the good work. My doctor usually just asks what part of the boat have I been working on when I go in to see her.

Not 100% sure, but I replaced some ?bronze/brass ones which supported the helm seat with "plastic" equivalents at Whitworths in Drummoyne who I expect you`ll be getting to know. They are largely hidden so the material was not material.I could not find an equivalent in metal.

Try Keeler Hardware At Five Dock...close to you from Abbotsford. I have also sent you a PM.
