Before Hurricane Florence hit Eastern NC, both my VHF radios worked very well.
As I prepped my boat for the hurricane and then was almost home, I remembered that i did not lower my antennas as I wanted to. I then hoped they would sustain the winds and storm.

After the hurricane as I was on my boat putting her back together, I turned on the radios on NOAA (channel 3 here) and nothing!

Ugh! I looked at the cables, looked at the connections, looked at the antennas...all seemed good.

I looked online for how to check....

Each time I would go to my boat, I would turn on the radios....nothing.

I began looking to see how much new antennas would cost...wow they are expensive!

But today a friend came to visit on the boat and mentioned that NOAA has been down since the hurricane!
I almost wanted to hug him!

I turned on my radio on Ch 16 and called out a radios check (why I did not do this before I cannot say!) I got a reply. ALL is well!

So. Has anyone heard anything about the NOAA stations being down after the hurricanes!?

I am just so relieved that my radios and antennas are ok!
