Living large! 16 more feet feels like twice the boat, maybe even three times. Congrats and enjoy!

Congrats. Getting a boat is always exciting.

One tip I learned recently. Often times when you get a boat you immediately think about buying lines, fenders, grills, etc.

At West Marine, if you tell them your purchase is for a boat you just purchased there is a discount. Saves a couple of dollars.

:thumb: :thumb: Congrats on your new love. Looking fwd to the pics.

What's her name?

Thanks guys! Didn’t know that about West marine, I’ll keep that in mind.

Her name is Emmy B. I think we’re going to have to come up with another name someday.

Since the boat was just painted, there is no name on the back.

I guess a sign shop can make us letters when we finally come up with a name?

Love the color.
Congrats.

What are the plans, staying local or venturing out on long cruises?

Nice looking vessel. Very classy. Good luck and enjoy

Congratulations! Enjoy getting to know her! We are trying to do the same, but have not found the right fit just yet.

Nice looking boat. You can name her “Negotiater” after all the negotiating you had to do to get to this point.

Congrats. Very nice looking boat.

Previous owner must have been a Jacksonville Jags fan!

Thanks guys! So the story is the PO bought the boat a short time ago and immediately had it painted and all the windows resealed. Also all new heads and other things like ac’s were done. Plans changed and they sold it to us. It still has its issues, but considering what was already done, I think we did pretty good. This will be our forever boat for sure. It has a generator that has a cooling issue and a windless that doesn’t work. The original fuel tanks scare me, but are showing no signs of leaking as of right now. Also it has no electronics. We got this boat for the mid $80’s, so I still feel good about it.

What we really love is the 3 cabin lay out. For our family, that is ideal. That and the pretty blue paint job, this was definitely the boat for us.

So our plans are to keep her on St Pete for a couple of months then moving her towards the keys once we have the bugs worked out and we get used to her. Then from there we will work our way up to Savannah since it’s only a 4 hr drive away from our home (Charlotte) and a pretty cool city to visit. That’d be a great place to get some work done. Once we get stir crazy again, off to the Bahamas.

My wife is almost more excited than I am, our 4 yr old little girl is beyond excited and our 5 month old, well he’s still just thinking about the next time he gets to eat, sleep, and...

What engines are in it?

Lehman 225’s. Starboard engine needs the idle turned up. First thing on my list. I know it’s easy, just need to do it.

We have had the boat for 3 years now. Ran it home from Virginia to Michigan. No engine problems so far. Only problem I have had related to the engines was a bad stop switch that wouldn’t let me start one engine. New switch and no more problem. Good luck with yours.

That’s great to hear. I spoke with a diesel mechanic over the phone and he has nothing but good things to say about them. WOT was only about 15 MPH, so we won’t be going anywhere fast, that’s for sure.

We got 17 knots during the sea trial. I usually run about 10 mph which is about 1600 RPM on our boat.

Congratulations! I just bought a 43' Marine Trader with twin Lehman's as well. I take possession on Oct 3rd. Can't wait to start on the list of things to do so I can be catching big Bluefin in the spring.

Great choice I love the layout.

Congrats to you as well!

So I just got an email from the broker. I guess included with the boat is a brand new “bildge dry” system that hasn’t been installed. I guess it does what it sounds like it does, keeps water out of the bildge? He said it was $2500.
