I just read an article about a scientist who invented an enzyme that eats plastic. If that got into the ocean, lots of boaters would be in peril...

Almost a syfi plot, fiberglass boats slowly being eaten alive by enzymes...

If this be true, the results ..... a lot of law suits filed against the developers and those who use it.
Another example of 'good things with really really bad side effects.' The worms may find boats easier to eat.
 
So what happens if it becomes aerosolised? Can our civilization survive if all the transistors and printed circuit boards are slowly eaten by microbes floating in the air? Plastic is a necessity of 21st century life.
