We didn’t get going as early as we had hoped so didn’t get very far today. We are docked at the south seas resort for the night on Captiva Island.
The boat ran perfectly.
My only complaint as the one who has to deal with the lines is that the lines that came with the boat suck! They are thick and very stiff. Took me forever to get one around a cleat. I knew I should have packed some of the brand new lunes we have at the house.

We are on the beach enjoying a cocktail. Life is good.

Glad the boat is running well. Lines are not a big deal so if that is the worst thing to have happen, then you are doing great.

Put your lines in a mesh dive bag and wash them with a ton of fabric softener. It gets the built up salt out and softens the fibers during the tumbling.

What a gorgeous sunset.

Yes....happy days!!!

I have my screen sideways on my desk! :)

5 gallon bucket, fresh water and a lot of fabric softener, soak a line as you travel between ports. By the time you get to 4 ports, you have all the lines soaked and flexible again.

I’ve had too many margaritas to remember to go rotate pics before posting them. Although them being sideways she doesn’t help the situation. lol,

Ssshhhh.....it’s only day one. :blush::ermm:

This mornings dilemna....to figure out how to turn the water on to the showers. :ermm::confused:

Did I say that our boat looks like a red headed stepchild compared to these monster yachts here? Cause it does. Lol

Beautiful pictures. This is way too cool y’all. Congratulations

Look at this pretty glass on this huge sportfish next to us.

Don't forget to turn on the sump pumps or you will have a very smelly bilge!

I like sideways too. But...

When I take cell phone pics I email them to myself and then save them to the desktop of my computer. Then I right click on the photo and choose edit with photos. Then I click crop and rotate. Then I do a 5 or 6 rotations until the picture is the correct orientation. Then done and save. Picture is still on desktop and ready browsed and selected to go into your TF post.

They’re on.
And we figured out the showers. The knobs move up and down. Who knew. We were just turning them. Lol
:blush::banghead::rofl::facepalm:

I just rotate in my photo album on my iPhone or iPad and make a slight adjustment to the photo so it allows me to save the changes. I just forgot to do it before posting photos last night.

Picked up a comforter set at sams in Fort Myers. I don’t like those molded fitted covers that came with the boat. Originally I thought I’d move this to the VIP stateroom when we got home and I’d get something better for our bed, but this is really soft and comfy. I think I’ll keep it on our bed. I have a ton of throw pillows at home to pretty it up. :)

Ah, South Seas Resort on Captiva. We took a Colgate sailing course there on a long weekend a few years ago. Beautiful place, manatees everywhere, had a room with louvered doors to the balcony over the water, ahhh. Didn't even mind the astronomical prices and $9 cup of coffee. We had such a good time, good memories. You're right too, more expensive boats squeezed into the relatively small yacht basin than I had seen in a long time, but fun to window shop. I remember at night so many of them had colored LED exterior and underwater lights glowing that the marina looked like a dance set from the movie Xanadu. Pretty.

Guess what wasn’t on the boat that we didn’t even think about until a little bit ago....a deck fitting key for the fuel, water, and waste caps.
Needle nose pliers to the rescue until we can find one. The little store here doesn’t have any.

I’ll be looking for y’all on the lake. My slip is on the Blood River (Lake Ponchartrain to Lake Maurepas to Tickfaw River to Blood River). Have a blast on the shakedown cruise.
Mike

LOL Dont feel bad. My AT34 is in a marina surrounded by multi million dollar condos and BIG boats.
Just consider you have less upkeep and you will use your boat more often than the owners use their BIG boats.

I guess I will just have to single-hand this boat because I cannot find a beautiful woman who will tolerate me.
Hmmm, maybe I can go to a bar at closing time and shanghai a woman. LOL
"Hey little lady, want a ride on my windowless boat with puppies and candy in the back?"

It is a very nice place. We haven’t gone to the other side of the island. There’s trolleys to take you there.
Haven’t seen any manatees yet, but watched a couple of porpoises playing this morning.
The resort is no cash, no credit cards...they give you a key card to charge everything to. They put a $450 hold on our card.

Lolol....just stay away from jail bait!! Haha

Hey Star. Looked up your boat make and model. Nice! Is the forward berth considered the master or is it supposed to be the midship berth? Are you guys planning to live aboard or use it for a weekender?

ASD are also following your adventure from the west coast!! Thanks for sharing...
