Frequently the difference between sitting on a sheet of plywood with a foam cushion , and real comfort.

Why do boat assemblers still sell slab horror sitting and sleeping when cars have had real seats for a century?

The '70 & '80's Taiwanese trawlers were built with built in plywood seating. I doubt anyone today or in the last 20 years is using this technique.

Though a simple hinged metal frame with springs or pirelli webbing would be better than ply
