Have any of you good folks been to Nova Scotia? I am planning a trip at the end of May (on the motorcycle) and looking for any tips on must see things in that area. Also visiting Prince Edward Island while in the area, I will be taking at least 3 ferrys on this journey so still getting time on the water:thumb:

I plan to visit Oak Island and ride the Cabot Trail, visit a few light houses and whatever pub's I stumble across but other than that no real plan so any advise on things to see are welcome.
 
Lunenburg is a great little port town with a fisheries museum . . . and you might see the Bluenose II if it’s still docked there. Mahone Bay is lovely and not far from Halifax. Scenery abounds, but Peggy’s Cove—even with all the hype—is extraordinary. Take the coast roads and you’ll see tons of quaint fishing enclaves. Cape Breton is spectacular and if you have Scottish heritage even more so. We took a sailing cruise on the Bras d’Or Lakes and saw the homes of Alexander Graham Bell and Gilbert Grosvener. On a clear day, it’s breath-taking.

We liked the area so much when we visited in Sept, we though about buying property. Then we heard about the permafrost and icebergs . . . :nonono:
 
Yes! WONDERFUL place!

There is some great hiking just north of Cheticamp...many many moose were there when we went.

On the docks with in Digby was the greatest seafood restaurant I have experienced.

City time in Halifax was enjoyable.

Lunenberg was a treat.

I actually have done NS on both a motorcycle (my ass still hurts) and boat.

Good advice above. Have fun.
 
Just an update and thanks for advise. I left MS on May 25th and got home on June 10th after 6671 miles, and absolutely loved Nova Scotia, we camped just outside of Mahone bay and it was great. Rode most of the coast of and saw lots of great sites. Hit Prince Edward Island for a night then up to Gaspe' in Quebec, we rode the coast there then down the other side along the St. Lawrence River before catching a ferry across at Matane. I think that ride was better than the Cabot Trail in NS, I really liked riding along right next to the water. We took the long way whenever possible and this was well worth 152.9 Gallons of fuel I used:lol:
 
Close out the lower deck pub in Halifax....

Not to be missed imho.....an experience you will not forget.

I missed that little phrase when first reading this and wondered about the 6,600 miles on 150 gals of gas!!!
