We are avid weekend boaters with a 20' WAC. We have spent many a long weekend camped out on our little boat and are looking forward to being able to do some longer range cruising when work is done.
For many years we were required to trailer our boat to the ramp in the early hours of the morning to be certain we got a spot in the parking lot. We are fortunate enough now to have a place on the water with the boat on the lift.
The reason we decided to join this forum (I have been lurking for a few weeks) is the members knowledge of cruising and of course trawlers.
The end goal is picking out the right trawler for us. Right now we are leaning towards a smaller trawler like a 26-32' Nordic tug, Prairie or Outer Reef. Something easy to handle by two and somewhat fuel efficient If we could keep it on a lift, even better. But we are just beginning to look.

I also hold a Captains license for up 100 gross tons with a towing endorsement which I may look into using for added adventures in my retired life as my present job has nothing to do with boats.

Thanks in advance for answers to all the questions I'm sure to ask later.
