Beginning the serious consideration and search for my boat.
I am a prairie boy that served in the Royal Canadian Navy reserve from 1982 - 1996, developing a great love for boats and water.
Now living in Ottawa, I have access ... and the dream is growing.
My loose plan is to acquire a used, functioning liveaboard looper (Grand Banks 36 or the like with sound hull and engine). Over the next three or four years I will ply the Thousand Islands, re-learning my navigation and seamanship skills as well as acquiring new skills (not to mention fixing/restoration work).
Then... the loop.
Of course, the best laid plans of mice and men... So, one step at a time. Presently thinking about acquiring a boat in spring and getting it located to the Kingston, ON area.
Broker recommendations are welcome.
I look forward to time spent in this forum.
