Amazing. I've only done that on an airplane.[emoji3]

Reminds me of spots along the Chambly Canal where we were looking down on the roofs of houses.

The most amazing opening bridge I have seen is on the Corinth canal.

The entire span LOWERS into the water , submerges while the vessel passes over.

A few years ago we rented a boat to travel the Midi canal in France from Port Cassafrieres to Homps and had the pleasure of traveling some of the aqueducts. Amazing experience.

Opened in 2002, we were there and amazed by the Falkirk Wheel in 2004. One of the engineering wonders of the western world.

We've done the aqueduct in Wales. One of the reasons we moved on from sailing to the dark side.

There is barely 6" of water on either side of a 70' long narrowboat in aqueducts, tunnels, under bridges, and in locks.

Highly recommended. Not all that expensive. But I surely dread the whole ordeal of airline travel in this day and age of security and downsized seating.

Highway # 1 goes under New River in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

That's cool, weren't there last went through the Corinth circa 1969. Hardly any room to spare side to side on our WWII era LST.

Thanks to photobucket, I can no longer share my photos of that sinking bridge.
