Pyro readings on Cummins 6BTA

The friendliest place on the web for anyone who enjoys boating.

Ok...I realized there were fused plugs on the pyro probes that allowed me to switch probes quite easily. Took the boat out for a test ride....no change. So it isn't the probe.
Does this mean the 1000F reading stayed on the same gauge? If yes then it is a gauge problem not an engine problem.

Those x2 readings would be consistent with one sender being single-station and the other dual-station. Maybe check that....

If that was the case the reading would have swapped when we swapped the probes(senders)

Not really. Now if we switch the gauges(or wires to gauges) and the problem doesn't follows the wires, then it is the gauge. I'm having a hard time thinking it is an engine problem when the temps with the IR gun were almost identical.

I have a pair of those same engines

A bit less than 900 is normal for my properly proper boat at a cruise of 2500

At displacement speeds I see about 600

I have the same boat and engines as Kevin and the same gauges.
We are propped slightly different, but I get the same results as Kevin

I have noticed one gauge needle "sticks" from time to time.
A tap on the glass and its where it needs to be.
