Greetings TF,
I have been lurking about on a multitude of sites anonomously while planning my life transition to full time trawler cruiser and am compelled to introduce myself here as this site has struck a chord with it's expert trawler dope and excellent community.
I got hooked on Bluewater cruising a long time ago while crewing sailboats in the South Pacific 91-92.
Since then its been about raising a family, building a business or 2 and trying to get back out there. There have been lots of shorter adventures in our small boats, live-aboard dive trips, crewing deliveries and mooching off of wealthy friends on crewed yacht charters.
Its all been leading to a life aboard.
the 36 month countdown clock is ticking and sometimes its hard to just be in the moment.
The dream is more has come more into focus and web surfing subjects are a wee bit more focused lately on specific topics like:
Nobeltec vs Navionics
Weather Routing Services
Getting fuel in Hiva Oa
active fins stabilizers vs sea-keeper blah blah blah.

This forum seems like a great place to drop it on the table and get help sorting it out.

Thanks for having me aboard
John

Welcome, John (Dargon). A good place to drop in. Glad to have you.

Howard, if John meets Oliver he may not have to worry about shoes again.:D

Shoes? Only when absolutely necessary (hot asphalt to the marina bar).

Schedules? Only when necessary to get to the marina bar before happy hour is over.

Greetings from Pickwick Lake. This is as good as it gets.

Paul

I wish I could not wear shoes when back to the office tomorrow but... ;)

To those not present 2 years ago, the rest of the story...

Poor Oliver. You guys must have scared him away, unless he discovered girls at age 16 which would explain his absence from this joint.

I hope he's enjoying my shoes.

Wifey B: Well, I just communicated with him and he's doing well. Got lot's going on and a lot of plans for his final year of high school and thereafter including some big time courses related to boats. :)
