Anchors for bigger vessels are really just lunch hooks.
Most vessels of that size and larger keep a 24 hr watch and engines at the ready if weather changes or they start dragging.
Ever hear the Captain of the Port ever broadcast that when gale warnings are posted that all vessels in the anchorage must have their engines on line?

Ships (and larger vessels) don't just anchor up, the chain sits on the bottom as well adding more weight and friction to they don't drag.

The coasties seldom anchor for long so the crevice corrosion that takes apart SS welds wouldn't bother them.

I thought the CG used Fortress anchors.
What's up .. are they slum'in now. Not likely as they sprung for a SS anchor.
Perhaps all the CG boats don't use the same anchor. The probably don't anchor once a year so it's a waste of a high end anchor in any event.
