So, who of us are planning to voyage beyond/into the Golden Gate this year, particularly those that mostly stay in the San Francisco estuary?

Hope to gather some of us this year, probably late summer or early fall when winds are light and on a weekend when there is an*early-morning slack tide before a flood tide, to explore the Farallon Islands and Drakes Bay (overnight there).* (Don't want to do it by myself.)

I have sailed to both places in my 27'.* Monterey also.**

Gotta really pick your window for the Farallones.*** KJ

We've been around the Farallones in the sailboat and I*have no desire to go out there again.* I've never been to Drakes Bay but Matt (my husband) has and he has no desire to go there again.

* Now if you were talking about heading to*Half Moon Bay, maybe.... but we hope to keep the boat in the delta through October so probably won't be heading out the gate this season.*

I'd meet you all in HMB one of these days. Going to Southern California for the Spring/Summer but maybe in the fall before the swell changes.

*At least once I'd like to get "the smell" of the Farallones with it's seabirds, sharks, seals, and whales as well as checking out Sir Drake's landing from the perspective of the sea.* Yeah, OK, once is probably enough.* Halfmoon Bay seems mundane.* I'll save that for a later adventure.
