Help me out here

I have exterior window coverings. I have 2 kinds. Blue canvass which I hate and do not use since I am on board often and a second set which looks to be a white reinforced plastic. Both sets snap on. I am missing 1 window covering in the white plastic.

Can anyone tell me what that material is called? I can make it myself.

Is the white mesh or solid?

It is probably Phifertex or similar. Check out Sailrite.com as a source.

Oh jeez. Let me search my phone and see if I have a photo. I'm currently at home.

You`ll know what it looks like, so start there.
Try searching some chandlery sites for window covering products. That might find it. Then we can all argue about what you should be using.

If it is relatively smooth vinyl coated both sides it may be Stamoid...
It's probably #2 in popularity after Sunbrella - which I;m guessing is what your blue ones are made from...just a guess w/o more description / pics
Lots of colors so you would have to look at a color chart.

That's not even remotely funny. I had a customer's wife do that to me when we were an hour late getting back in on a charter......not funny.

You going to be in Savannah for a while? I'm probably 4 days behind you.

It's just thin plastic stuff that seems to be reinforced.

I would never do that! My mother did it to me when I was 3 hours late getting into the Bahamas in my 24 footer with 5-7 foot seas. It was like riding a jet ski. Ugh! The pirates didn't help either!

Charleston in 5 days and may stay for 3 nights...can't decide where to stay because out favorite The Maritime Center is still closed to transients.

We are at St Catherines Island with av30 mile daily advance planned till Charleston.

Not sure I have any of your beer left from Ft Pierce...been waiting for you to catch up....

Detail still light. There was a product called "Herculite", a white solid quite thin "plastic" material. We used some for making flat no contour covers, it broke needles on the domestic sewing machine when doubled over for seams, so it was more than just plastic sheet.
Check this out. http://www.nolanuda.com.au/products/herculite-80/. Doubt it`s an Aussie product, our wage structure usually stops us making things here.

Thanks Bruce, I'll check it out. I have a commercial machine so I'm not concerned about breaking needles.

A thought: Consider a mesh. Given you can maybe make up one panel and then think about it... maybe try it, and then decide if you want to make more mesh panels after that and at your leisure.

Textilene is one mesh product, and it apparently comes in several densities. I think ours-- over the front windows -- is 90%. It blocks enough sunlight to knock off the temps to something the ACs can handle, but we can still look out that direction.

At night with our interior lights on, our neighbors can see in, too. Although really that's really only true from boats across the fairway and facing us.

No, I have seen it on other boats. It's like a temporary covering. Heading over to the boat now.

There was white vinyl with fabric on the back named "Top Gun". Don;t know if its still around.

It was around a few years ago when I had a tonneau cover made for the center console.
