Davits and Cranes

Have a few questions on davits and cranes.

Understood Subject Great Harbour N Series.
1. What is the average maximum weight limitations?
2. Can the N37 be set up with a bigger davit and or telescoping one?

3. What is the max weight an N37 can Safely hold on the box top, boat deck or flybridge floor? Yes I know all the same place.

Good question
My crane is an Autocrane and am hoping toget a similar answer.
I have a 49 ' custom steel trawler and my crane is 360 lbs. I am hoping to
use it to lift my Harley Road Kng on and off my boat at the dock from the
aft deck. If need be, I will use chain instead of rope at the dock. I am only
guessing mind you, but expecting that rope would not be safe enough
to Carry the load on the port side dock.
I am trying to figure out how to balance the load when making this lift .
Chain to dock seems about the safest solution.
Please offer your thoughts when you can.

I saw some videos where a guy unloaded a jeep from a Florida coaster and a big scooter.
If I can find them I will pass them along.
Thinking the same principle for hooking up and moving would be the same.
Believe they were on you tube.

What did the Great Harbor tell you when you called them? They are still around and can best answer your questions.

I was hoping to get some Great Harbour owners chiming in from their own experiences.

Well...

It's not a Great Harbor but my Bayliner 4788 came stock from the factory with a crane that has a 750 lb capacity. :dance:

After researching New Ribs I would not want anything less then that, and higher preferably to be truthful.
But then again my tender needs to do more then just run to shore and back.

Wondering about setups like this. I apologize for the picture quality, it's a screen shot from a video.

If that 360 lbs is the rated capacity, don't even think about it. :nonono:

A Harley Road King weighs over 800 lbs.

Ask GH since they have the stability information for their boats. FWIW, my 43' boat has a crane that is rated at 600lbs. Even though my current RIB, motor, fuel, battery combination weighs about 275 lbs, I would prefer to have a crane rated for even higher. More margin is better.

I just wanted to talk with other great harbour owners
About these wonderful trawlers. I can always email Ken or Eric about things But again I Enjoy Trawlers and or boats more then average and just wanted to discuss issues and projects etc.
