My wife and I were invited to go whale watching yesterday on a friend's 48' Ocean Alexander. With us was another couple who own a 64 OA. Since we own a 42' OA Sedan we felt like family on one of the calmest day at sea I can ever remember. We did see a few whales (too far for the camera) but the atmosphere of running off shore in absolutely benign sea conditions was overpowering!

It doesn't get much better than being on the water with boating friends and enjoying a sunny day with calm waters.

Memories are made on days like that!

Another vote for year-round boating in Southern California, excluding the occasional storm. Whale watching, another reason to take your own boat out to sea.
