Anyone Try Flir One For Night Vision?

I've been eyeing those at our local West Marine for a year now. I had a moment of weakness recently and asked to see one...came home with one of these instead.

Big Bucks. But still reasonable. And the range is better.
 
I stepped out into the backyard to snap a picture. Range is out to 200 feet or so. The closest tree is about 40 feet away. Resolution seems like it would be insufficient for use while cruising. I can try to grab some different images (thermographs) if there are requests.
