Fuel Filter Followup

Attached picture is my primary fuel filter. Want to add a vacuum gauge to the system.... This filter has ONE inlet (#2 in the pic) and 2 outlets (#1 and #3) #3 goes to the engine, #1 has a plug in it. If I add the vacuum gauge to #1, which would be most convenient, would that work to show vacuum in the line. In other words is it an unrestricted passage from #1 to #3. If so, I would think that would be a good solution to mounting a vacuum gauge to my system. See attached picture

Mount the guage at #1. Yes, inside the filter head the fuel passage is the same so in another application either #3 or #1 could be used depending upon equipment restrictions.
 
Sounds good to me! Many Filter bases have multiple ports like this..
 
If in doubt, you can always tee the line going to the engine.
