I am trying to order a PSS shaft seal but do not know the size as the boat*

is not here for me to check it out.

The shaft is 1 1/2 but they are asking for the size of the shaft log too.

Anybody with the same boat can give me some help I sure would appreciate it.

******* Welcome aboard Shirley! You've discovered what most people still don't know &

that is, the IG 32 Europa is one of the very best boats, at that length, that you can buy!

(IMHO)

Mine is not a Europa but I wish it was.

Here's a fellow TF member's Europa.

Shirley,* Cool boat!** You can find the diameter of the shaft log by measuring the circumference with a tape.** Then divide the circumference by 3.14 this will equal the diameter. You should measure just aft of where the packing gland hose ends. Measure the shaft log it self. On our boat it is fiberglass.

3.14 is an approximation for PI.

We have an IG32 and it is a great boat!* Ours is an 83 and stll going strong.

I am sending you a private message,

Take care John and Miri.

Thank you for your opinion Seahorse ll, we happen to agree with you!

Downsizing from a 40' Defever we fell in love with the layout of the IG 32 Europa.

Thank you too, JohnP for the advice in measuring the shaft log myself but, since we will not be using our boat until fall
I am not able to get on the boat and measure it myself.

Is there an IG website where I could look up the information?

Shirley, You have the patience of a saint, I would have a hard time waiting all Summer to check out a new vessel.

I do not think you will be able to get this info. on line.

Dan and Lori (check member list) have a 1998 32*, they may know the shaft log size.

I will measure mine but I would not order anything till you physically

measure your own.

JohnP
