I have a 34 Mainship trawler
3 days ago, I experienced a burning rubber smell coming from the port stern.
I shut the port motor off and went home on my starboard motor.
The cleaning diver said the cutless bearing on the standoff for the port shaft looked OK.
I ran the port motor for about an hour in neutral and there was no burning smell, I put it in gear and within a minute the smell came back.
Any Idea what it could be.
