I must confess that I never do this. If I carried this much equipment with me into my engine room I would likely kill myself or get stuck in there forever.

Not really. You just keep slip ons inside the ER door.

No shoes on board is a stupid "rule". It's very stupid in an ER.

Moving around a boat bare foot is obviously dangerous to your feet and toes and worse on carpet than a shoe with clean soles.

I'm guessing that video was supposed to be funny?

We don't wear shoes aboard but I only went barefoot once many years ago in the ER. Burnt my foot. Never again. Always wear shoes in the ER.
 
They won't have to worry about stubbing their toes if they continue trolling for barracuda.
