Are these numbers accurate

I have a 2004 34 Pilot Sedan with twin yanmar 240's. While searching various links I came across this page. Do the mph/kph seem correct? I don't come close to the top end speed shown and my mid range numbers are lower as well. I would be interested in other people's numbers. Thanks for any information you can provide.

I also responded on the Mainship forum. For my Pilot 34 with a single Yanmar 370, I get 2-3 kts less. That was also my experience with a Mainship 34T.

Edit: Based on the post below I went back and checked the 34T's numbers. They are actually much closer to my experience, maybe a half knot less.

34 Trawler numbers

The numbers for a 34 trawler with a single 6LYA aren't far off from what I've seen/measured.

My impression is that factory tests are usually done with brand new boats, shiny bottoms and running gear, minimal load. These plus many othe variables such as water temperature, air temperature, humidity, wind, waves mean that you would be very unlikely to see the same numbers on your own boat.

Update on the numbers. Took the boat for its first cruise of the season with the bottom freshly painted after a good sanding 3/4's of a tank of diesel, full water tank, about half the normal equipment, and the Admiral. WOT was 24.7 knots and cruised at 16 knots at 2600 rpms. This was the first season we had the boat with a new bottom paint. So I guess the moral of the story is nothing beats a shiny well manicured bottom.

Definitely clean bottom and hardware are key. Another one, although impact is not as dramatic, are properly calibrated props. Improves efficiency and reduces vibration.
