The TF Site Team works daily to provide and safeguard a forum that allows for open discussion of all things trawlering (and then some) for our community members. Many, many folks attempt to capitalize on this audience with spam and attempts to mine data. Software enhancements provide the first level of security and the TF Site team works to protect us from the rest. We provide that protection as best we can so you don't see that in your daily experiences here on Trawler Forum. As part of that effort, we have rules prohibiting commercial entities from using the discussion forums for advertising their business to our members.
On the other hand, we have many members in good standing who have businesses in the marine industry. They can provide helpful information and special service to their customers and, at the same time, get their company name and website out there for folks to become familiar with. We created the Commercial Market for this purpose to reward those members in good standing and provide an extra level of support to our members. The key here is to provide the info to our members who seek it and not inundate the forum with commercial threads.
There are several ways to keep up with new posts in a Commercial Market thread. New Posts show in the NEW POSTS link at the top of the page and the TODAY'S POSTS page accessed under the QUICK LINKS tab at the top of the page. The Trawler Forum Home Page lists the sections and latest post for easy access. Any member is free to subscribe to any thread or even an entire forum section to receive update messages via email.
This section is here to provide you, the member, an enhanced experience at seeking information regarding trawlering without inundating the community with endless advertising and spam. If you feel there are ways this can be improved, please feel free to PM any TF Site Team Member or just use the report button at the bottom left corner of this post.
